The World Tui-Na Association The World Tui-Na Association was founded by Dr. Jae Man Kim for the purpose of preserving and spreading the Orthodox Tui-Na teachings of Dr. Da-fang Yu. The association is currently undergoing major restructuring to best promote the science of Tui-Na to the medical establishment, to Chinese medicine practitioners, and to the general public. There is a great deal of misinformation about Tui-Na being circulated these days, and there are a large number of acupuncturists, massage therapists, bodyworkers, and even martial arts instructors who are advertising Tui-Na services or treatments yet have little or no real experience with the necessary diagnostic and therapeutic tools that Orthodox Tui-Na encompasses. Simply having attended a Tui-Na seminar or being exposed to one or two techniques does not make one a qualified Tui-Na practitioner by any stretch of the imagination. Tui-Na is a science that needs to be systematically taught and understood with careful guidance in both a theoretical and clinical setting. Anything less than that does a great disservice to Tui-Na by propagating half-truths and setting the stage for injured patients and tremendous lawsuits.
